What Is Lignu?
Lignu is the brand name under which Smiths Clear penetrating Epoxy Sealer™ (CPES™) has been sold in Scandinavia and across Europe until 2014. Smiths CPES, Cold Weather formulation, is the same product, and it was branded for Lignu.nu. just as it has been for the Rot Doctor in America.
Lignu are restocking as of September 2015, so customers can choose the most appropriate supplier based on their location.
Why Lignu?
Does this sound familiar?
Boat owners spend a lot of time scraping and sanding and varnishing their boats. The varnish gets dull after a year or even six months It cracks, peels and comes off the next spring and one has to start all over again.
What Does It Do?
Lignu(R) Impregnating Resin impregnates the wood substrate with a water-repellent polymer made largely from the natural resins of wood itself. It bonds the varnish or paint to the wood with a tough, flexible adhesive. This bond is stronger than the bond of varnish directly to bare wood. This creates better water resistance of the wood substrate as well as better topcoat adhesion.
Where Can I Buy It From?
Lignu (Smiths CPES) can now be purchased from both Lignu in Scandinavia or MakeWoodGood (Us) in England, click here for more information. or see the product selection below.
